| Short description | The Quarrymen perform at the Woolton Parish Church Fete. Ivan Vaughan introduces Paul to John. |
| Location | Woolton |
The Quarrymen played on a makeshift stage during the afternoon behind St. Peter's Church. They also played during the evening, albeit without Colin Hanton, at the church hall down the road. That gig began at 8:00 PM and admission was two schillings (10p). They alternated with the more traditional George Edwards band. While the band were setting up their instruments at the church hall, tea-chest bass player Ivan Vaughan introduced John Lennon to his classmate and friend from the Liverpool Institute, Paul McCartney.
