History
| This section was taken shamelessly from http://www.eil.com. Although it's a good start, it should be reworked ASAP. |
This tour was originally to be headlined by Chris Montez and Tommy Roe, however after the first night of the tour on March 9, 1963, The Beatles became the headliners. This was because the single Please Please Me was enjoying it's 3rd week at number one and though the release of the debut album of the same name was still 2 weeks away, it was clear that Beatlemania was about to errupt!
The tour lasted from March 9 to March 31, 1963 (21 dates) and featured the following acts:
- "Britains Dynamic" Beatles
- "America's Exciting" Chris Montez
- "America's Fabulous" Tommy Roe
- The Viscounts
- Terry Young Six
- "Glamourous" Debbie Lee
- "Your 208 DJ" Tony Marsh
