Liverpuddlian singer (b. July 7th 1963)

Brian Epstein spotted and signed Tommy Quickly (then using his real name Quigley) when he performed with his band The Challengers supporting the Beatles on February 18th 1963 at Queens Hall, Widnes. Epstein was taken by the 17 year old Quickly but less impressed by The Challengers who he replaced with The Remo Four.

His first single was Tip Of My Tongue written by Paul McCartney and released on July 30th 1963. He appeared with the Beatles at the Odeon, Weston Super Mare from the 22-27th of July 1963 and their 1964 Autumn tour (October 9th to November 10th, 27 dates).

Quickly was never a commercial success and retired from music in 1965, he spent most of the 1970's battling a heroin addiction.
