This template is used to define participants to songs and their function. But it could also be used for movies, radio/TV hosts, etc.

The template takes two unnamed parameters. The first parameter defines the function while the second defines the name of the person who accomplished the function.

Not only does this template display the information (although it is displayed in a very primitive way), it also creates a Semantic Wiki relation. The function part is the relation name and the person is the relation value. Being a relation, it is automatically linked to a page on BeatlesWiki.

[edit] Recommandations

• Before creating new relations make sure that it doesn't already exist with a slightly different name (check upper/lower case, variations, etc).
• Always use the instrument name as function. E.g.: Piano instead of Pianist.
• There is already a relation named Lead Guitar and another named Rythm Guitar, so you creating a relation titled Guitar probably doesn't make sense.
• You may use several Template:Participant on the same article linking to the same relation. For example, if a song version features two drummers, there's no restiction to write

• Do not forget to check the FactBox at the end of your article to make sure that Semantic Wiki has understood your relation.

[edit] Possible evolution

It is possible that another relation will be created in a future evolution of this template.
The new relation would be the exact opposite of the actual one: we would have Relation:Paul McCartney=Bass for instance in addition to Relation:Bass=Paul McCartney. This would overcome one limitation of the Semantic Wiki search engine (not allowing to search for "any" relation linking to Paul McCartney).
