| Short description | Recording Session. Songs Recorded: Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da and Revolution. |
| Location | Abbey Road Studios |
During the early part of this 10:00 PM to 3:30 AM session, The Beatles added lead vocals, backing vocals, and vocal percussion to Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da. The rest of the time was spent rehearsing the song Revolution. John had originally brought in Revolution 1 as The Beatles' next single offering. However, Paul and George did not see this as a good single, as it was too slow. So John composed a faster, electric version of this song, albeit with the same lyrics, except for one word. Revolution ended up being the B-Side to the Hey Jude single.
